Marine Corps University, Bachelor’s Enlisted Quarters

Henry Adams provided an energy analysis and mechanical and electrical systems design for the new BEQ, designed for use by the Marine Corps Combat Development Command. The building is a 68,750 SF, 3-story, masonry structure, designed to provide 150 units for 300 personnel. The project utilized Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection criteria for construction. The building design satisfied LEED minimum requirements for green building rating. To promote energy conservation, photocell controls were used for exterior lighting fixtures. Other features include automatic controls for parking lot, use of high-efficiency motors, flow restrictors for bathroom showers and faucets, T8 fluorescent fixtures, and occupancy sensors for lighting.
