Henry Adams provided professional mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) design services for the renovation of CT Scan Room GG110 and associated Control Room at the Washington DC VA Medical Center.

The mechanical scope included pre- and post-construction balancing of airflows in the room, accompanied by a written report. They rebalanced existing base building supply and return air in the exam and control rooms to achieve intended design airflows. Siemens Building Technologies were engaged to provide new BAS controls for the existing air handling equipment in the suite.

The electrical scope included providing temporary construction lighting and electric for power tools. They removed and terminated any existing electrical services not to be reused and installed new dimmable LED light fixtures in the control and exam rooms. They also furnished and installed LED under-cabinet lights and receptacles in the control room and relocated electrical services as needed.

The plumbing scope encompassed removing the existing sink and plumbing to accommodate the control wall relocation. They installed a new stainless steel sink with gooseneck faucet and wrist blade handles, extending necessary piping to the new location. Additionally, they insulated new domestic water piping.

The fire protection scope involved removing and relocating fire protection sprinklers in the exam room to accommodate the new ceiling and control wall layout. New sprinkler heads were installed on existing piping in both rooms, and fire protection sprinkler shop drawings were provided for VAMC DC review and approval.
