Morgan State University, Morgan Commons

The Morgan Commons project consists of new paved pedestrian walkways, landscaping, and pedestrian lighting throughout the central artery of the college campus connecting the field house, the new student center, the gymnasium, the new library, and residence housing. This central part of the campus has recently undergone major construction including the new student center and the library.

Henry Adams, LLC was responsible for the electrical engineering design for the Morgan Commons project. This includes the addition of pedestrian scale lighting throughout the central portion of the campus. The lighting design utilized the campus standard pedestrian style luminaire. Screw-in auger bases were used in lieu of concrete foundations for cost savings and easier installation. Uplighting of the library canopy and accent lighting for the exterior of the student center was also provided.

Design also included emergency blue light stations with cameras for security. The blue light stations are connected to the campus police station.
