National Institutes of Health, Arc Flash Analysis

Henry Adams provided the electrical engineering services for an updated arc flash study for the NIEHS campus, comprised of nine buildings. The project included surveying existing conditions of all electrical equipment and recording accurate single line diagrams of the campus electrical system. The single line diagrams included all electrical equipment from the main utility disconnect (13.8kV) to the branch circuit panel board level (208V/120Y).

  • The project included multiple electrical system configurations.
  • The study complied with NFPA 70E requirements.
  • Utilized the latest version of SKM System Analysis Software.

The project was delivered under an IDIQ contract with NIH as the prime consultant. This included MEP engineering services for several NIH campuses in Maryland and North Carolina. Task orders included a wide range of infrastructure upgrades and studies.
