Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral

The new Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral is the focal point of an extensive, multi-phase redevelopment of Canaveral Cove's harbor side dining and retail area. The new Exploration Tower opened to the public in November 2013. The $23M, 23,000 SF, 7-story Exploration Tower consists of indoor and outdoor observation decks, an 83-seat theater, exhibits, meeting and function spaces, offices, and a café.

Exhibits throughout the Exploration Tower take visitors on a journey through 12,000 years of the area's history, including the first known human settlement of the area, maritime history, shipwrecks and treasure hunting, Ponce de Leon’s landing on Florida’s coast, military battles, the environment, beach culture, the cruise and cargo industries, and the space exploration program of the 21st century.

A centerpiece exhibit includes an interactive display depicting a virtual ship bridge from which visitors can pilot a cruise ship through the Canaveral Channel. Another interactive display shows the changing Brevard coastline through history in a way that has never been done before.

Henry Adams provided full MEP design services from preliminary design through construction administration and project close-out.
