National Park Service, Fort McHenry Visitor Center

Henry Adams provided the MEP engineering design for the new 17,200 SF visitor center at Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine. The project includes a combined exhibit and theater “immersion experience,” multi-purpose room and expanded reception, orientation, retail and office spaces. The project achieved LEED Gold certification. The building also saves more than 26 percent energy and 37 percent water compared to ASHRAE 90.1 Standard by using geothermal heat pumps, highly efficient lighting and waste energy recovery.  Henry Adams also provided commissioning services on the project.
