Alexandria City Public Schools, John Adams Elementary School
Under an on-call contract as the prime consultant, Henry Adams provided the electrical engineering design for the switchgear replacement at John Adams Elementary School.
The replacement is a 480/277V, 1200A circuit breaker style switchboard. The design included phase protection mounted on the main breaker. No temporary switchboards or generators were needed during construction. The existing switchboard was located directly adjacent to the loading dock, so it was not necessary to transport it through the school upon removal.
