ACEC/MD has presented an Honor Award to the Brookside Gardens Entryway & Parking Lot project.

Brookside Gardens is Montgomery County's award-winning 50-acre public display garden. It is situated within Wheaton Regional Park, approximately five miles north of Washington, DC. Brookside opened in 1969 as one of several units within the 500-acre park that includes extensive woodlands, trails, playgrounds, nature center, stables, and athletic fields.

The project includes various upgrades such as a sustainable gatehouse, an overlook deck, lighted boardwalk pedestrian entrance, illuminated signage and artwork, a reconfigured parking lot with 63 additional spaces, electric charging station, composting toilet, and water feature pumping vault.

Henry Adams provided the electrical engineering design to support these upgrades.
