Henry Adams director of business development, Lisa Julian-Miller, CPSM (left, above), was awarded the Blue Heron award from the Maryland Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).  The award is bestowed to SMPS members who have demonstrated years of service to their chapter and its members.  The award is presented annually when a deserving candidate is identified and agreed upon by the current Board of Directors.  Julian-Miller has more than 25 years of experience in marketing professional design services in both the architectural and engineering fields. A member of the society since 1994, she is a past president of the SMPS Maryland Chapter and has presented at both the regional and national levels for the organization.  Julian-Miller has served as a mentor to other professional marketers, both through a formal mentoring program and through one-on-one, individual relationships over the past ten years.  Elisabeth McCollum, CPSM, the Chapter’s outgoing president, presented the award at the SMPS Maryland Chapter Annual Awards Program on June 11, saying, “Lisa has shown a strong commitment to the Chapter for many years, and can always be counted on to volunteer her time to participate in Chapter events and initiatives.”  In her acceptance speech, Julian-Miller thanked the Chapter and her current and past employers for recognizing the value her association with the Chapter and National membership brings to her firm.
