NAVFAC, Indian Head Sewage Treatment Plant
Under a task order for NAVFAC Washington, Henry Adams provided mechanical and electrical engineering support for the team providing various services necessary to renovate and expand the Sewage Treatment Plant. The purpose of this project was to upgrade the sewage treatment facility such that its discharge is in compliance with Maryland regulations including the revised Nitrogen and Phosphorous limits.
The Indian Head Wastewater Treatment Plant is LEED Silver certified.
Specific tasks completed by the design team included:
- Sewage Treatment Plant equipment assessment report
- Characterization of the waste stream entering the plant
- Basis of design for enhanced nutrient removal study (Design-Build RFP Preparation)
