Hippodrome Foundation, M&T Bank Pavilion

Major renovations for the Hippodrome Foundation were completed to the 19th century 13,200 SF historic Eutaw Savings Bank Building at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. The renovated facility created a state-of-the-art multipurpose venue with excellent acoustics capable of hosting a wide variety of events including performance such as live music, small theater, public radio, dance and presentation such as lectures, video live stream projections, classroom, and project roll-out. Additionally, the space hosts banquets, receptions and social events including wedding receptions, reunions, fashion shows, benefits, and cocktail receptions.

Renovations included inserting modern structural and infrastructural elements into the Pavilion while maintaining its historic character, materials, and detailing throughout. Renovations also increased energy efficiency by updating building systems to minimize operation costs.
