Henry Adams provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Unit at Union Memorial Hospital, which contains a dedicated stand-alone nursing unit focused on inpatient care of elders with multiple co-morbidities. The 16,200 SF project is located on the third floor of the existing nine story patient care tower. The unit includes four patient observation rooms, five private patient rooms, nine semi-private patient rooms, and two isolation patient rooms.
